Today, the CEO of Carbon Iceland and the CEO of Ölgerðin signed an agreement regarding buying green liquid CO2 from the Carbon Iceland plant that will start operating at Grundartangi industrial zone in 2028. Carbon Iceland will capture a large volume of CO2 from Norðurál aluminum smelter, aslo located in the Grundartangi area. Ölgerðin has expressed a firm interest in buying CO2 from Carbon Iceland as soon as CO2 capturing has been initiated. Carbon Iceland is very pleased to sign this agreement with Ölgerðin and to see a continuous interest from industry leaders like Ölgerðin in the future products of Carbon Iceland.
Ölgerðin is the largest beverage producer in Iceland and produces, imports, distributes and sells beverages and food products throughout Iceland.
